Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday jabbed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday over the latter’s upcoming visit to Manipur, which is coming over two years after the bloodiest ethnic violence started in the state in May 2023. As there exists an uneasy calm with a few minor bouts of violence being reported in recent months, Gandhi argued that the PM’s visit to the northeastern state is "no big deal".

"The issue in Manipur has been ongoing for a long time. It is good that he is going there now. But the main issue in the country is that of 'Vote Chori'. The election mandates in Haryana and Maharashtra were stolen. People everywhere are saying 'Vote Chor', the Leader of Opposition was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

For over two years, the Opposition has targeted the Prime Minister for not visiting the state to personally review the situation in the conflict-hit northeastern region.
