Massive Fire Breaks Out At Kashmere Gate Police Station In Delhi, Important Documents And Crucial Items Destroyed
In another shocking instance of fire in Delhi, the Kashmere Gate Metro police station in north Delhi broke out in flames around midnight on Saturday, leaving the facility in ruins. The Delhi Fire Department received a call regarding the fire at 12:45 AM.
Soon after, 12 fire tenders reached the spot to tackle the inferno. According to PTI, the fire had spread rapidly and engulfed the police station, destroying everything from the record rooms to the barracks, cabinet and files. There are no reports of any casualties.
According to PTI, a Delhi Fire Services (DFS) official said, that a portion of the police station was destroyed including the “malkhana” where properties of cases are kept. The fire destroyed numerous documents and other crucial items stored within the station. The office of the Deputy Commissioner of Metro is at the Kashmere Gate Metro police station.
