A major fire broke out at a three-storey commercial building in Lucknow's Aliganj area on Monday afternoon, triggering a large-scale rescue operation by the fire department and police. Authorities rushed multiple firefighting teams to the scene after receiving an alert at around 3 pm. While no casualties had been officially confirmed at the time of writing, concerns remained over reports that several people could still be trapped inside the building. Eyewitnesses claimed that some individuals jumped from the structure to escape the flames, though officials have yet to verify those accounts.

The blaze erupted in a building located on Usha Mehta Marg under the Aliganj police station area. In response, the fire department deployed 14 fire tenders, including a hydraulic platform vehicle, to contain the flames and assist in rescue efforts.

Police and emergency personnel arrived shortly after the alarm was raised, with teams from nearby fire stations joining the operation. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak also visited the site to assess the situation.
