LoP Rahul Gandhi Meets PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah To Select Chief Information Commissioner

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday delivered a sharp response to Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi’s claim that individuals aligned with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) were being placed in key positions, saying that even the country’s Prime Minister adheres to the same ideology.

Addressing the Lok Sabha, Shah said, “Rahul Gandhi says that people who share the ideology of RSS are appointed to important positions. What’s the problem with that? There is no law banning RSS members from important positions. Even the Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) and the Home Minister adhere to the same ideology. People have elected us and sent us here. We are not here by your grace."

He also launched a tirade of accusations against former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, alleging that she colluded with communists to maintain power and interfered in the Presidential elections.
