Kerala Assembly Polls 2026: In Thiruvananthapuram constituency, confusion still prevails in candidate selection

The Left Democratic Front (LDF) on Wednesday decided to field Bhagath Rufus as an Independent candidate from the Kovalam Assembly constituency. Mr.Rufus, a former member of the Thiruvananthapuram district panchayat, had recently quit the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and shifted allegiance to the Indian Socialist Janata Dal (ISJD). The United Democratic Front (UDF) had earlier announced incumbent MLA M.Vincent as its candidate from the constituency, while the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is yet to announce its candidate.
