Karnataka High Court stays provident fund proceedings and arrest warrant against cricketer Robin Uthappa
The High Court of Karnataka on Tuesday stayed the proceedings initiated by the Regional Provident Fund (PF) Commissioner and the warrant of arrest issued against cricketer Robin Uttappa in a case of recovery of PF contribution of employees of a private company, of which he was a director earlier, which had failed to deposit the contribution deducted from employees accounts to their PF accounts.
Justice Suraj Govindaraj passed the interim order on the petition filed by Mr. Uthappa, who had questioned a series of notices issued by the PF authorities to him since June 2020 and the warrant of arrest issued by the Regional PF Commissioner-II on December 4, 2024.
The proceedings against him were initiated in his capacity as a director of Centuries Lifestyle Brand Private Limited.
