Israel pitches for promoting tourism in Lakshadweep

The Israeli embassy in India promoted tourism in Lakshadweep amid the India-Maldives diplomatic row over remarks made by Maldivian ministers after PM Modi's visit. The embassy shared pictures of the island's underwater beauty and pristine beaches. The Maldivian envoy to India was earlier summoned by the external affairs ministry over the ministers' remarks against PM Modi.

The Maldivian government suspended three deputy ministers for criticizing Modi's post on social media. The Maldivian foreign ministry clarified that the ministers' views are personal and don't represent the country's position.
