Dhaka: In a shocking development coming from India’s eastern neighborhood, Bangladesh Chief Advisor’s Office (CAO) has confirmed that 56 individuals have been detained in connection with the vandalism of shops and business establishments in  during the pro-Palestine protest organised by students and public. The protest rallies were taken out in different cities  of Bangladesh, where the protestors attacked various brand outlets like Bata, KFC, and Pizza Hut. Expressing solidarity with the Palestinians and condemn Israeli attacks on Gaza, the protestors vandalised properties across Bangladesh. As a result, police conducted overnight raids to arrest the individuals involved in attacks on business outlets in different parts of the country, Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam told reporters.

“As of now, at least 56 people have been arrested in connection with these incidents,” he said, adding that authorities are reviewing video footage to identify more people involved in the vandalism.
