IRGC spokesperson Ali Mohammad Naini killed in Israeli strike

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps chief spokesperson Ali Mohammad Naini has been killed in an Israeli strike. Naini had been the prominent face of the IRGC for the past two to three years, handling both domestic and international media. The strike continues Israel's pattern of systematically targeting top Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps commanders since the beginning of the conflict.

Israel has maintained from the outset its objective to eliminate Iran's current regime, which includes the IRGC leadership that protects the country's government and supreme leader. The Israeli military strategy has followed similar patterns previously employed against Hamas and Hezbollah, targeting key commanders one by one.

The IRGC was originally formed as a special force to protect Iran's topmost leaders from such situations, but its senior commanders have increasingly found themselves on Israel's target list.
