Indian deck cadet, Ann Tessa Joseph, who was among the 17 crew members of the Israeli-linked cargo ship — MSC Aries — seized by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards in the Strait of Hormuz last week, has safely returned home.

With the combined efforts of Indian Mission in Tehran and Iranian government, the Indian sailor — hailing from Kerala’s Thrissur — landed safely at Cochin International Airport on Thursday afternoon, the Ministry of External Affairs said, adding that she was received by the Regional Passport Officer.

Indian Mission in Tehran is in constant touch with the remaining 16 Indian crew members of the container vessel. They are all in good health and in contact with their respective families in India.
