The Hyderabad Traffic Police have announced a series of traffic restrictions, diversions and enforcement measures across the city on the night of December 31 in view of plans of large-scale New Year celebrations, particularly around major public gathering points and entertainment hubs.
Police said adequate traffic personnel would be deployed at 217 key junctions and intersections across the city to ensure smooth movement and road safety. Special focus areas include markets, malls and high-footfall locations such as Tank Bund, NTR Marg and PVNR Marg along Necklace Road, as well as commercial and nightlife zones in Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Punjagutta, Khairatabad, Saifabad and surrounding areas.
Need-based traffic restrictions will come into force from 11 p.m. onwards on Tank Bund and adjoining roads and will remain in place until the celebrations conclude. Vehicular traffic, including private and public transport, will not be allowed on NTR Marg, PVNR Marg and Tank Bund between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. on the intervening night of December 31 and January 1. Several diversions will also be implemented around Hussain Sagar to regulate traffic flow and prevent congestion.
