Hillary Clinton seeks Trump revenge, through Kamala Harris
It was a night for Vice President Kamala Harris, but veteran Democratic Party leader Hillary Clinton got the loudest cheers and applause. It was a moment of revenge for Hillary, a former rival of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, when the crowd at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) erupted in chants of "lock him up", after her mention of the 34 felony convictions of the former President.
The DNC is scheduled from August 19-22 in Chicago.
Hillary Clinton ran against Donald Trump in a bitter 2016 election. Monday's speech at the DNC and the loud cheers were her moment of revenge against Trump, who had vilified her throughout the campaign. The means, however, was another woman, a woman of colour, Kamala Harris.
The standing ovation that Hillary received after her speech said it all. The applause lasted for 1.5 minutes and was louder than what Kamala Harris received, according to the New York Post.
