Heatwave conditions to continue over north India for next 2 days
NEW DELHI: Heat wave to severe heat wave conditions are likely to continue over many parts of north India for the next two days and gradually abate thereafter under the influence of approaching western disturbance towards northwest India, India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Monday.
Northwest India, including Punjab, Haryana and Delhi-NCR, which continued to be under heat wave conditions on Monday, may not see significant change in maximum (day) temperatures during the next 24 hours.
Day temperatures may, however, fall by about 2 degree Celsius thereafter as IMD predicted isolated to scattered light rainfall with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan during June 18-20.
