Glasgow restaurant to correct India map after Lovlina raises Northeast issue

Olympic medallist Lovlina Borgohain said a popular Indian restaurant in Glasgow has apologised and assured the Indian contingent that it will correct a map of India displayed on its premises after she pointed out that the Northeast was missing from it.

The incident took place during a celebratory dinner hosted for the Indian boxing contingent at Mister Singh's India, The Home of Curry, following the team's historic campaign at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, where Indian boxers won an unprecedented 10 medals -- seven gold and three silver.

"It was an Indian restaurant where we were having food and few people told me that the napkin and logo of the restaurant is having a India map printed in which north east map is missing and Kashmir's part is also not correct. I felt real bad about it, raised my voice against this issue to the owners. They said it's a British map that's why northeast is missing and apologised for the same. Having said that, they will change the map," Lovlina told India Today.
