Exports surge by 26% in August; trade deficit narrows

New Delhi: India’s goods exports jumped by 26% to $43.81 billion in August, while imports grew at a slower pace of 14% that helped narrow the trade deficit, as per official data released on Tuesday.

The country’s merchandise imports increased to $70.67 billion in August, which was 14.1% higher than the August 2025 figure of $61.96 billion.
