DMK MLA and former Fisheries Minister Anitha Radhakrishnan was granted bail by a court in Tiruchendur late on Friday (July 3, 2026) in connection with a case over certain remarks he had made against Tamil NaduTamil NaduTamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay.
Mr. Radhakrishnan was arrested after the Madras High Court on Friday dismissed his anticipatory bail in the case registered by the Authoor police in Thoothukudi district.
Justice G.K. Ilanthiraiyan had dismissed the advance bail plea after reading the transcript of the MLA’s speech in question, produced by the prosecution, and expressing displeasure over his remarks.
