Expanded breakfast scheme to cover 13,446 more students in Tiruchi district

As many as 13,446 students of 112 schools in Tiruchi district would benefit from the expansion of the Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme to aided primary schools in urban areas.

With this, 80,129 students from 1,317 government and aided schools across the district are now being provided with breakfast. The scheme was initially launched for students from classes 1 to 5 in Corporation schools and gradually expanded to primary schools in other urban and rural areas.

After Chief Minister M. K. Stalin inaugurated the expanded scheme in Chennai, Minister for Municipal Administration K. N. Nehru and Minister for School Education Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi served breakfast to students at a few schools in Tiruchi here on Tuesday.
