US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he will announce his choice to replace Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell on Friday morning, according to Reuters. “I’ll be announcing the Fed chair tomorrow morning," Trump said at the Kennedy Center on Thursday, the news agency reported.
The announcement comes a day after the Federal Reserve held interest rates steady following three consecutive cuts. One of the potential successors, Fed Board member Christopher Waller, was among the two officials who dissented in the recent rate decision.
