Devotees flocked to various temples in Mysuru city to seek blessings on the first day of New Year on Wednesday.
The lengthy queues before some popular temples began as early as 6 a.m. as the temple doors were opened in the early hours after the morning rituals in view of ‘Dhanurmasa’.
A large number of devotees thronged the Chamundeshwari Temple atop Chamundi Hills and the special darshan queues stretched up to a distance, forcing the devotees to wait for their turn for the darshan. Adequate security was in place in anticipation of heavy rush of devotees.
