Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh’s one of the most awaited films of the year, De De Pyaar De 2, has finally hit the big screens. The film explores family dynamics and generational differences, continuing the story of Ashish Mehra and his much younger girlfriend Ayesha Khurana.
The narrative shifts focus from their initial romance to the challenges of meeting and blending with each other’s families. While the first film relied heavily on light-hearted comedy and charm, this sequel attempts to tackle deeper emotional and relational layers, navigating family expectations, secrets, and misunderstandings.
The film begins with a short flashback of Ashish and Ayesha’s first love story, giving viewers context for their relationship. From there, the story moves to the present, where Ashish meets Ayesha’s family for the first time. The drama unfolds when Ayesha returns to her progressive, modern family, who do not hold orthodox views. The story kicks off in earnest when an incident involving her sister-in-law’s pregnancy triggers tension and comedy.
