Columbia student detained by ICE agents to be released after Mamdani–Trump meeting

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani met President Donald Trump at the White House. They discussed major housing investments for the city. The meeting also addressed the arrest of a Columbia University student. The student was later released following intervention. Mamdani presented Trump with a mock newspaper front page. Trump showed enthusiasm for the housing proposal.
