The Delhi Police and municipal corporation launched into action amid mounting criticism and students' protest over the death of three IAS aspirants in a coaching centre in Old Rajinder Nagar. On the political front, the blame game continued as the ruling Aam Aadmi Party and the opposition BJP shrugged off responsibility for the incident.

On Monday, the police arrested five more people in connection with the death of students. Among those arrested is an SUV driver, who the police blame for driving his car on the flooded road outside the coaching centre, which led to water gushing in the basement where the students were trapped.

A viral video showed the SUV driver wading through the flooded road which sent a wave of water inside the coaching centre. The iron gate of the building also allegedly broke as the water gushed inside. The SUV was also seized by the police.
