Budget 2025 Expectations Live Updates Nirmala Sitharaman Union Budget News Income Tax Announcement
Budget 2025 Expectations Live Updates: With less than a week to go until the Union Budget presentation, industry stakeholders, experts, and economists are closely watching for key reforms and announcements from Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The Budget comes at a time of subdued economic momentum, a weakening rupee, and ongoing geopolitical uncertainties.
As a result, the finance minister is expected to unveil a range of measures aimed at boosting infrastructure, agriculture, MSMEs, and other critical sectors, while strengthening the economy through capital expenditure (capex) growth and consumption support.
Elara Securities noted, “The upcoming Union Budget will be shaped by sluggish domestic demand and heightened global uncertainty, influenced by Trumponomics. We anticipate that the FY26 Budget will strike a balance between consumption and capital expenditure while maintaining the fiscal deficit target of 4.5%. While we expect modest consumption measures, the core approach to sustaining capital formation is unlikely to shift significantly. We project a 14% growth in capex for FY26 compared to 4.9% in FY25.”
