A historic and spiritually significant celebration took place at Somnath Temple as Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the grand Amrit Mahotsav marking 75 years of the temple’s Pran Pratishtha. The event commemorated the re-establishment of the iconic Somnath temple on May 11, 1951, symbolizing India’s cultural resurgence and civilizational pride.

The ceremony witnessed the first-ever Kumbh Abhishek of the Somnath temple shikhar. PM Modi remotely initiated the sacred ritual using holy water collected from 11 major pilgrimage sites across the country. Vedic chants, conch sounds, and continuous cries of “Har Har Mahadev” filled the temple premises, creating a deeply devotional atmosphere.

During the celebrations, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed the gathering and described Somnath and Kashi Vishwanath as symbols of India’s eternal spiritual consciousness and national self-respect. He recalled the vision and determination of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who led the effort to rebuild the Somnath temple after Independence despite several challenges.
