Bastar journalist found dead in septic tank, murder suspected

A 28-year-old journalist was found murdered in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Friday, two days after he went missing as he went to meet a road contractor’s brother, the police said.

Mukesh Chandrakar was a television journalist whose body was discovered in a septic tank on the premises of the road contractor in Bijapur, they added.

Mukesh, who was an independent journalist had done ground reporting from the Bastar region for NDTV. He also operated a YouTube channel.
