Bangkok pub fire kills 27 after stage-side circuit breaker sparks blaze

A huge fire tore through a pub in Bangkok early on Monday, killing at least 27 people before firefighters brought the blaze under control, officials said. Several injured people were taken to hospital, and the cause of the fire is being investigated.

The fire broke out at the Na Ladprao pub in the northern part of the Thai capital. Firefighters took about half an hour to contain the blaze after it was reported around midnight, according to rescuers.

Footage shared online by first responders showed heavy flames and smoke pouring out of the front door of the pub. People were seen trying to escape as thick black smoke rose into the sky.
