Australia focused on playing positively on Colombo’s slow track: Ellyse Perry
Defending champions Australia will be aiming for easy couple of points when they take on struggling Pakistan side in match No. 9 of the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Wednesday. The Aussies started off with an impressive win over New Zealand but had to share a point with Sri Lanka when their last game at the same venue in Colombo washed out without a ball getting bowled last week.
While Fatima Sana’s Pakistan team have a 12-0 record against India, their performance is even worse against Australia. In their last 16 ODI matches against the world champions, Pakistan have never even come close to a win. Even the narrowest margin of defeat for Pakistan was a whopping 37 runs back in 2014.
Since the last ODI World Cup, Alyssa Healy’s side have lost just 4 matches and won 27 while Pakistan have lost 18 and just won 13 of their matches. For the Aussies, who can coming off a forced break of one week, it will be interesting to see if Darcie Brown will continue to play ahead of Megan Schutt.
