Anaya Bangar has slammed the criticism from Marizanne Kapp about her possibly playing in the Women's Big Bash League. Cricket Australia's allowed Anaya, the daughter of former India cricketer and coach Sanjay Bangar, to compete in women's community and Premier Cricket in Australia has sparked fresh debate.
The development comes shortly after Anaya spoke about receiving clearance from Cricket Australia and outlined her ambition to resume her competitive career, with a possible pathway towards elite-level cricket opening up from March 2027.
“Absolutely ridiculous, this should not be allowed,” Kapp wrote on her Instagram.
Anaya has now responded to this, saying that the people protesting against her inclusion should educate themselves about the topic. She also said she had provided information in terms of not having any unfair advantage and is compliant with the guidelines set by Cricket Australia.
