Australian Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles and Foreign Minister Penny Wong on Tuesday met with the National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval in New Delhi to discuss several issues including global and regional developments, sources said.
They said security and defence cooperation between Australia and India were discussed during the meeting. The two sides also talked about challenges and opportunities in areas such as maritime and space, which are part of the Global Commons.
This meeting comes a day after Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held the second India-Australia 2+2 Defence and Foreign Ministerial Dialogue with Deputy PM and Defence Minister oMarles and Foreign Minister Wong in the national capital. The ministers exchanged views on deepening multifaceted ties, including in areas of defence and security, trade and investment.
