Asif Ali Zardari Set To Be Elected As Pak President, Says Shehbaz Sharif

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Asif Ali Zardari is set to be the next president of the country, adding that there will be "strong coordination" between them. All allies of the ruling coalition, including Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), have agreed to support Zardari in the presidential election scheduled for March 9, local news media reported.

The development came after Shehbaz Sharif hosted a dinner at his official residence in Islamabad for the representatives of the allied parties.

Addressing the gathering, Sharif said that all allies will "jointly make efforts to find out solutions to the crisis" facing Pakistan, according to Geo TV.
