New Delhi: Saweety Boora, a boxer who has received the Arjuna award, has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against her husband, Deepak Hooda, alleging that he and his family have assaulted her over dowry issues. Deepak, who is also an Arjuna Award-winning professional Kabbadi player, addressed the situation, expressing that he does not wish to speak negatively about his wife. He noted that he is currently unwell and has asked the court for a rescheduled date for the hearing.

“I have submitted a medical certificate and requested a later date. I will certainly go there (to the police station) but I won’t make a negative comment against my wife. I have not been allowed to meet her,” Hooda told PTI.

Seema, the Station House Officer at the women’s police station in Hisar, reported that the First Information Report (FIR) was registered on February 25. She mentioned that Hooda has received several notices but has not yet appeared.
