After Olympics medal, shooter Swapnil Kusale gets double promotion in railways

Following his historic bronze medal win, India's Swapnil Kusale received a double promotion from being a travelling ticket examiner (TTE) for the Indian Railways to Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Sports Cell in Mumbai on August 2, Friday. Kusale won a historic medal in the 50m rifle 3 positions event to bag India's 3rd one at the Paris Olympics 2024. This was also the third medal for India in shooting.

Kusale has been working for Central Railways since 2015. The 28-year-old from Kambalwadi village near Kolhapur in Maharashtra has been competing in international events since 2012, but he had to wait another 12 years to make his Olympics debut at the Paris Games. It has now been cofirmed that the Indian shooter has got a double promotion, after the statement was issued on Thursday.

"The vacant Jr.Scale/Gr.B post of Mechanical Deptt. is transferred for operation as OSD(Sports)/ Sports Cell, HQ."
