5-year-old boy and his father detained by ICE return to Minnesota after court order

Liam Conejo Ramos and his father, Adrian Conejo Arias, arrived back in their Minneapolis-area home on Sunday after spending days in a detention centre in Texas. Their return was confirmed by Texas Congressman Joaquin Castro, who helped escort them back.

"Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack," Castro wrote in a social media post.

The case sparked widespread attention after images of the young boy standing outside his home with federal agents went viral last month.

Liam, an Ecuadorian national, was among several students detained during an immigration operation in a Minneapolis suburb, according to school officials.
