10 Sambhal Mosques Including Jama Masjid To Be Covered With Tarpaulin During Holi

The Sambhal police in Uttar Pradesh have decided to cover 10 mosques, including the historic Jama Masjid, with plastic sheets and tarpaulins that will fall along the route of a Holi procession on March 14. This year, Holi coincides with the Friday prayers during the holy month of Ramzan.

Police said the decision had been taken to ensure smooth proceedings for both the religious events.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shrishchandra said all religious sites along the traditional route of the Holi procession would be covered following mutual agreement between both communities.

Sambhal Sub-Divisional Magistrate Vandna Mishra said the UP Police detained 1,015 people.
