Watch: Kohli Loses Cool, Shouts At Umpire After Controversial Dismissal

Kolkata: Virat Kohli was gutted after he was unluckily dismissed on Sunday while he had got his eye in against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens in a 223 chase. It was a rank full-toss from Harshit Rana, which Kohli was taken aback by and hit it straight to the bowler. Immediately, the review was taken and it showed that the ball dipped below Kohli’s hip and it was a legal delivery. This upset Kohli, who got into an argument with the umpire. RCB captain Faf du Plessis, who was at the non-striker’s end – joined in as well.

Kohli perished for 18 off seven balls. He hit tow sixes in his brief stay.

Earlier, captain Shreyas Iyer struck a 36-ball fifty, also his first half-century in IPL since May 2022, while Phil Salt and Ramandeep Singh smashed quick cameos in propelling Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to a massive 222/6 in 20 overs against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

Iyer smashed seven fours and a six to be the top run-scorer for KKR, while Salt sizzled with a 14-ball 48 and Ramandeep produced fireworks in the end with an unbeaten 24 off just nine balls to get the 16th 200+ total of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
