Former Pakistan all-rounder and Galle Gladiators captain Shahid Afridi said he told Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq to just focus on the game and not indulge in on-field spats with "abusive talks" after a heated Lanka Premier League (LPL) match against Kandy Tuskers in Hambantota on Monday.

Shahid Afirdi confronted the young Afghanistan pacer after Galle Gladiators lost to Kandy Tuskers in a hard-fought contest. Naveen-ul-Haq was seen having a go at Gladiators pacer Mohammad Amir during the 18th over of the latter's chase. Tuskers players had to intervene and calm things down as television cameras spotted the heated moment.

The on-field spat extended to the 20th over and the two players stood their ground and exchanged a few fiery words after the game ended.
