Papad Pol Fame Ami Trivedi Breaks Silence on Replacing Disha Vakani on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah

Actor Disha Vakani is being replaced from popular TV show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. After producer Asit Kumar Modi confirmed that the team is looking out for Disha’s replacement as Dayaben, the speculations were rife that actor Ami Trivedi of Papad Pol fame will be seen taking up the popular character. However now, in her latest interview, Ami has denied the rumours of being approached to play the character.

The actor to Bollywoodlife and revealed that although she believes she would suit the character, she can’t say anything because she hasn’t been approached by the makers of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Ami added that her friends have told her that she suits the character, however, she will only be able to comment on it when someone from the show’s team will approach her. She was quoted by the portal saying, “I can’t comment on your question till the time I am approached the show. Once the makers offer me the role, I will be in a better position to talk.”

Ami maintained that stepping into the shoes of Disha Vakani to play the role of Dayaben is a big responsibility. She said any actor would have to face ‘bricks and stones at the beginning because Disha has been associated with the show for 10 long years.’ Ami praised Disha for her acting prowess and said that the audience loves her for playing Dayaben, therefore, it’s not an easy decision to make. She said, “It is a huge responsibility and would be difficult for any artist to fill into the big boots of Disha Vakani.”
