Pakistan issues visas to 1,100 Indian Sikh pilgrims

NEW DELHI: Pakistan has issued visas to 1,100 Sikh pilgrims on the eve of Baisakhi celebrations, the Pakistan high commission said here in astatement.

The pilgrims will participate in the annual Baisakhi celebrations from 12-22 April. “Under the framework of the Pakistan-India Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines of 1974, a large number of Sikh yatrees from India visit Pakistan to observe various religious occasions every year,” it said.

“The commission wishes the visiting pilgrims a fulfilling yatra,” it added.
