Flight operations were disrupted at the Bengaluru Airport in Karnataka Friday due to heavy overnight rainfall even as water seeped into Terminal 2 of the airport, forcing the authorities to divert as many as 17 flights to Chennai in Tamil Nadu.

Visuals shared on social media platforms showed rainwater leaking through the ceiling of Terminal 2 at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru.

Officials said as many as 17 flights, including international passenger flights, were diverted due to the heavy rainfall and strong winds which made the airport inaccessible for landing for a brief period.
