Nushrat Bharucha steps into horror genre, bags Lapachhapi remake Chhori

Nushrat Bharucha announced her next film on Wednesday. Titled Chhori, it is the Hindi remake of hit Marathi horror film Lapachhapi. The film will be directed by Vishal Furia, who also helmed the original, starring Pooja Sawant in the lead role.

Lapachhapi, released in 2017, tells the story of a pregnant woman, who moves into a new house with her husband. The house, however, turns out to be haunted. Lapachhapi was a blend of horror, as well as social drama. The film’s script is written by Vishal Kapoor, who is also writing the script of Chhori.

Announcing the Hindi remake of the film via Instagram, Nushrat wrote, “Thrilled to announce my next film, #Chhori (#) - Something shockingly scary is coming your way!
