Boris Johnson is set to be re-elected as British prime minister with a landslide majority in the country's general elections, an exit poll suggested on Friday, 13 December. The victory is finally expected to end the uncertainty over the Brexit deal.

A BBC/ITV/Sky exit poll suggests a Tory majority of 86, although most seats are yet to be declared, reported PTI. Opposition Labour Party is on course to lose 71 seats, the poll suggests. It would be the biggest Conservative victory since 1987.

UK’s Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn said on Friday that he will not lead the party in future elections. Meanwhile, Johnson thanked the Conservative Party's voters, candidates and volunteers. "We live in the greatest democracy in the world," he tweeted.
