Foreign Currency Hidden In Peanuts, Meatballs Seized At Delhi Airport

New Delhi: Unopened packets of Marie biscuits worth of Rs 10, but on opening it’s found that all biscuits are hollow from inside to accommodate rolls of foreign currencies. The videos posted by CISF are mindboggling as to what ‘novel’ ideas smugglers are up to. But more startling is the fact that CISF raided these apparently innocent objects from a 25-year-old man, Murad Ali, at T-3 of Indira Gandhi Internation Airport as he, along with his biscuits, meatballs and peanuts, was all set to fly to Dubai.

One note is rolled into a cylindrical shape, tied with a thread so that it doesn’t unfurl. The entire thing is inserted inside a peanut shell. One peanut contains one such note.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has seized Rs 45 lakh worth of foreign currency hidden in cooked meat pieces, peanuts and sealed biscuit packets from a passenger at Delhi airport, officials said on Wednesday. Five hundred and eight crisp currency notes were recovered from the eatables.
