By India Today News Desk: Sanjay Shirsat, an MLA of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led camp, sparked a controversy on Sunday as he made remarks against Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (UBT) Sena MLA Priyanka Chaturvedi.
He claimed that Chaturvedi secured a position in the Rajya Sabha after Aaditya Thackeray saw her beauty. His remarks drew flak and were termed misogynistic.
However, Shirsat later attributed the comment to former MP Chandrakant Khaire, who belongs to the Uddhav Thackeray faction. He said Khaire had told him this.
