Republic Day 2024: The Ministry of Home Affairs has said that a total of 1,132 personnel from the police, Fire Service, Home Guard and Civil Defence and Correctional Service have been awarded Gallantry and Service medals on the occasion of Republic Day 2024, as reported by news agency ANI.
The Union Home Ministry also said that the President’s Medal for Gallantry (PMG) has been awarded to two and the Medal for Gallantry (GM) to 275 personnel.
The list of 277 Gallantry Awards includes 119 personnel from Left Wing Extremism-affected areas, 133 personnel from the Jammu and Kashmir region, and 25 personnel from other regions who are being awarded for their gallant action.
