Yamuna Pollution: Yamuna Cleaning Begins in Delhi, Work to Be Completed in Four Phases

The much-discussed Yamuna river cleaning project has officially commenced in Delhi, following BJP's focus on the issue during the assembly elections.

The BJP had strongly criticized the AAP government over the state of the Yamuna, making the river’s cleanliness a central election issue.After securing a full majority in the recent elections, the BJP-led government has launched the cleaning initiative, which will be carried out in four distinct phases.

The goal is to significantly reduce pollution levels in the river and improve its overall condition. The project will involve a combination of measures, including the removal of waste and a long-term plan to restore the river's ecological balance. This move is expected to be a key step toward resolving the longstanding pollution problems plaguing the Yamuna in the capital.
