Out-of-favour India wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan made a strong case for a T20I recall with a powerful century, helping Jharkhand win their first-ever Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy with a 69-run victory over Haryana on Thursday.
Ishan Kishan went on a hitting spree, smashing 10 sixes on his way to a brilliant 101 off just 49 balls, as Jharkhand posted a massive total of 262 for 3.
Jharkhand’s bowlers, led by medium pacer Anukul Roy, struck twice in his opening over and continued to take wickets at regular intervals, eventually bowling out Haryana for 193. Wicketkeeper-batter Yashvardhan Dalal fought hard with a 53-run knock, but it wasn’t enough. Roy also contributed with the bat, scoring 40 off 20 balls.
