United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has been urged to ensure the protection of Aurangzeb’s tomb in Shambhaji Nagar. This comes after row over Aurangzeb’s tomb dominated headlines for almost the entire last month.

The letter to Guterres was written by Yakub Habeebuddin Tucy, who claims to be a descendant of the last Mughal emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar.

His demand comes nearly a month after violence erupted in Nagpur during a rally which demanded the removal of Aurangzeb’s Tomb, located in Kuldabad in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district (formerly Aurangabad).
