When a 2024 win summoned up visions of a 1983 triumph
Indian team captain Rohit Sharma shared a special message from the air to all the Indian fans. The T20 World Cup winning captain has urged the fans to join the Indian team for a victory parade at the Marine Drive and Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on July 4th from 5:00 pm onwards. The wait will be over in a few hours from now as the Men in Blue will touch the Indian soil on July 4th. The World Champions have boarded the Air India chartered flight from Barbados.
The BCCI's secretary Jay Shah also posted a 'Save the date' message on his social media and urged the fans to join the victory parade in Mumbai and celebrate team India's win. The Indian team will bring the cup home as they have a jam-packed schedule as soon as they land in India. The World Champions are expected to land at the Delhi airport around 6:00 am in the morning on July 4, Thursday.
Following that the Indian team will meet PM Narendar Modi at around 11:00 am. After the meeting will conclude, the Rohit Sharma-led squad will board the chartered plane to land in Mumbai. The team will drive from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Airport to reach the Wankhede Stadium. Then there will be a 1 km long bus parade to the iconic stadium from Marine drive. This will be followed by a small presentation ceremony where Rohit will hand over the T20 World Cup trophy to BCCI secretary Jay Shah.
