Weather Update: Heavy Rains Trigger Flooding and Waterlogging Across North India

Heavy rainfall has caused waterlogging and raised flood concerns in several parts of northern and central India, including Ayodhya, Tonk, and Chhatarpur. In Ayodhya, the rising water level of the Saryu River has prompted authorities to place SDRF teams on alert and increase monitoring along the riverbanks for possible rescue operations.

At the same time, rain-induced waterlogging on Ram Path has disrupted the movement of devotees visiting the Ram Temple, raising questions about the city's drainage infrastructure despite recent development works. Blocked drains and overflowing sewage have forced pedestrians to wade through stagnant water.

In Rajasthan's Tonk, continuous rainfall has inundated roads and markets, with water flowing through streets like streams, making travel difficult for residents and affecting normal business activity. Meanwhile, in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, persistent heavy rain has submerged several roads and low-lying areas, causing widespread inconvenience.
