Veteran actor Vishal Anand dies of prolonged illness

Veteran actor Vishal Anand, who worked in films like Chalte Chalte and Taxi Driver, died of prolonged illness on October 4. Actor Purab Kohli is Vishal Anand's nephew. The late actor's real name was Bhishmam Kohli. He appeared in 11 films with actors like Simi Garewal, Ashoke Kumar and Mehmood, among others.

Apart from acting, Anand had also directed and produced a few films, including Chalte Chalte, in which he shared screen space with Simi Garewal, Nazneen and Shreeram Lagoo. The was a thriller, which was directed by Sunder Dar. Composer Bappi Lahiri got his big break in the industry in Vishal Anand’s films.

Apart from the popular Chalte Chalte and Taxi Driver, Vishal Anand also worked in films like Hamara Adhikar, Sa-Re-Ga-Ma-Pa, Hindustan Ki Kasam, Dil Se Mile Dil and Kismet, among others.
